About TALYCOPA AFC

More than a football club.

A WORD FROM OUR CHAIRMAN

Welcome to the official Talycopa AFC website. We are a proud Platinum Accredited grassroots club, providing a fun, safe environment for all children and senior players. We have boys’ and girls’ groups at every age, our senior men’s side competing after back-to-back promotions, and our senior women’s team currently competing at tier 2 level.
We are always looking for new players, so if you or your child is interested in joining, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the club through the contact page, or message us on Facebook or Instagram.
This club is solely run by volunteers, from coaches and parent reps through to the executive committee, so we are always glad to welcome new volunteers to support the club in whatever way they can.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at the pitch soon.

Stephen Grove,

Club Chairman

WHO WE ARE

Talycopa AFC is a community football club based at Trallwn Playing Fields in Llansamlet, Swansea. We field teams for boys, girls, ladies and men, from four-year-olds taking their very first kick all the way up to senior football.
We exist to give everyone in our community a place to play, whatever their age or ability. For some players that means chasing league titles and cup finals. For others it means making friends, getting active and enjoying their Saturday mornings. Both matter equally to us.
Above all, Talycopa is a family. Players, parents, coaches and volunteers all pull in the same direction, and that spirit is what makes the club what it is.

FAW PLATINUM ACCREDITED

We are proud to hold FAW Platinum Accreditation, the highest standard of accreditation a grassroots club in Wales can achieve. It is not given lightly. It recognises the quality of our coaching, the strength of our safeguarding, and the way the club is run day to day.
For parents, it is a simple guarantee: your child is in safe, qualified, well-supported hands at Talycopa.

OUR HOME: TRALLWN

Trallwn Playing Fields is the heart of the club. It is where our teams train, play and celebrate together.
We are currently investing in the facilities. With the support of the Football Association of Wales and the local council, work is underway on upgrading the changing rooms, alongside a dedicated pitch maintenance programme led by an experienced groundsman who also works with Swansea City AFC. Our goal is simple: one of the best grassroots pitches in Swansea, for our players and our visitors alike.

OUR STORY

Talycopa AFC was formed in 1999 with just six children registered and founding member Paul Thomas as Club President. From those small beginnings the club has grown, season by season, into one of Swansea’s most respected grassroots clubs, with over 400 registered players today across boys, girls, ladies and men at every age group. Paul Thomas remains with us as Club President to this day.
Along the way there have been countless cup runs, promotions, festivals and unforgettable days. But the club has always been about more than trophies. Generations of players have come through our doors, made lifelong friends, and gone on to represent Wales and regional squads.
In 2025/26 the club enjoyed one of its finest seasons yet: the men’s first team lifted the Gwalia Cup, the Reserves were crowned Division 3 champions in their debut senior season, and the U12 Girls completed a league and cup double.
More than two decades on, the values that started the club in 1999 are exactly the same today.

Once Taly, always Taly.
